An opportunity has arisen within the business for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team on site at Hinkley Point C. The QS will be based on site at the workface, capturing and logging any disruption and identifying change.
The site based QS will work closely with all teams including; Projects, Construction, Quality and Health and Safety.
Identify change to contract and scope
Identify and highlight any disruption which causes a delay to planned works
Help estimate and forecast CE’s
Work closely with Project Manager to identify any potential commercial opportunities
Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time
Perform risk, value management and cost control during construction
Undertake cost analysis where required
Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
Value completed work, scrutinise invoices and arrange payments to subcontractors
Understand the implications of health and safety regulations

Minimum qualifications
Engineering Degree or qualified by experience
Technical HNC/ONC qualified
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying
Successful candidates will also be required to undertake the relevant CITB touch screen test.
HPC BPSS Clearance an advantage, ability to obtain BPSS Clearance essential.
HPC Badge Holder an advantage.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in similar roles
Competent with managing timescales and budgets
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, standards and specifications
Thorough knowledge of stainless-steel fabrication and welding projects
Temporary works knowledge desirable
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Compentency with Microsoft office package (Excel, Word etc.)
Able to work individually as well as part of a team to tight deadlines and targets
