Role Summary

Lead and co-ordinate assigned projects from initiation through to completion, setting goals and milestones to successfully deliver projects and manage stakeholder expectations.

 

Responsible for the planning, monitoring and control activities related to delivering projects on-time within budget and to the required quality standards. Manage risks and opportunities, build and maintain strong client and inter-departmental relationships and promote collaborative working. The role will be customer facing therefore, you must be competent in preparing and presenting reports and communicating at all levels.

 

We are looking for degree educated in a relevant field or alternatively, qualified by extensive experience in all project management techniques/processes and have a history of successfully delivering projects over £5million in value.

About the role

  • Project Oversight: Manage and oversee all aspects of engineering & manufacturing projects, from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standard.

          

  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Act as the central point of contact between various departments, fostering seamless communication and collaboration among the teams, finance, engineering, sales and manufacturing.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement project plans, identifying key milestones and critical paths to ensure project success. Proactively address potential challenges and provide solutions to keep projects on track. Drive focus on delivering client value and enhancing internal margins on live project scope.

  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with projects, implementing strategies to mitigate these risks and maintain project integrity.

  • Budget Management: Work closely with the finance team to monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost control measures to ensure projects remain within financial parameters.

    ·         Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to the Operations Manager and Business Unit Manager.

  • Pressure Handling: Thrive in a highly pressurized environment, demonstrating resilience and the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and in a high-pressured environment

Skills & Experience

  • Marine and Nuclear industry experience desirable

  • Strong track record in delivering on project commitments

  • Financial contract management of projects in excess of £5million

    ·         Understanding of specifications, quotation preparation and supplier selection.

  • Ability to develop strong professional relationships with client, partners, and internal customers/peers

  • Ability to drive HSE, quality and ensure compliance to internal and legislative standards

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholder expectations to delivery fit-for-purpose project solutions driving/influencing stakeholders to consensus

  • Developed leadership and influencing skills

  • Maintaining excellent client and subcontractor relationships when high risk technical work is not going to plan, ensuring that the customer feels supported.

  • Technical engineering degree, HNC, ONC or qualified through extensive experience
